Woody Harrelson is officially on board for the upcoming Han Solo movie scheduled to arrive in cinemas next year.
We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody,” said the film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
Harrelson, who we have seen in plenty of diverse roles such as those in The Hunger Games, No Country For Old Men, True Detective, Cheers, and Zombieland, is supposed to play a mentor to young Han Solo.
His ability to find both humor and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong,” the directors tell StarWars.com
Co-starring are Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as young Lando Calrissian, and Emilia Clarke.
The Star Wars film, set during the early scoundrel days of the iconic characters, prior to A New Hope, will be the second that stands outside the Skywalker family saga.
The movie, which still does not have a title, will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel. It is set for release sometime in 2018.
