Ryan Reynolds was battling anxiety after working on DEADPOOL. The 40-year old actor revealed this in an interview for GQ after being named Man of the Year 2016.
When it finally ended, I had a little bit of a nervous breakdown. I literally had the shakes. I went to go see a doctor because I felt like I was suffering from a neurological problem or something. And every doctor I saw said, “You have anxiety”.
Reynolds admitted to the publication that he completely recognized the “ridiculously fortunate position” he was in but that all the attention was hard on his nervous system.
That might be why I live out in the woods.
The actor said he spent 11 years fighting to have Deadpool made.
I was banging the loudest drum for Deadpool. I wasn’t just trying to open it; I was trying to make a cultural phenomenon.
The movie was made for $58 million and grossed $782.6 million worldwide.
Deadpool 2 is due in 2018.
