Trevante Rhodes, one of the stars of Moonlight, has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox’s reboot of The Predator, THR learns.
The cast of director Shane Black’s movie already includes Boyd Holbrook as the lead actor and actress Olivia Munn.
Black co-wrote the script with Fred Dekker. John Davis will produce.
Details of the plot details remain unknown, but what is known is that after Schwarzenegger’s original was set in a Latin American jungle and Danny Glover’s was in a urban Los Angeles jungle, the hunt this time takes place in the suburbs.
Rhodes is one of the breakout stars of the critically acclaimed Moonlight, in which he plays a young gay man who comes of age in drug-addled Miami. The movie has garnered six Golden Globe nominations, including best picture.
In The Predator he will play an ex-marine and best friend of Holbrook’s character.
The Predator is set for release on March 2, 2018.
