A series of new images from Alien: Covenant are being published and this one of Katherine Waterston as Daniels reminds us strongly of Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley.

Ridley Scott has been reviving his best cinematic worlds with prequels and sequels and apparently is keen on creating a visual tone that mimics them perfectly.

Having the new Star Wars movies in mind as well, it seems a definite trend to create films that are artful visual copies of their source material. Should we criticize this? Or just surrender and rejoice to the additional beauty?
We have not yet made our damn minds. We just love these films too much and that clouds our judgement.
Reportedly, it features a David Bowie cover.
Also, James Franco confirmed that will be joining Danny McBride in the movie as Branson, the captain of the Covenant and husband of Katherine Waterson’ Daniels.
Members of the press were recently shown 15 minutes footage and called it (some SPOILERS in the link) a full blown, bloody horror film.
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Alien: Covenant is scheduled for release May 19, 2017.
